Emergency Dental Care at our practice

Bad toothache, swelling in your face or jaw, a broken or knocked-out tooth, or a knock to the mouth all count as dental emergencies. If any of these happen, call us on 01246 863185 as early in the day as you can — the earlier you ring, the better our chances of fitting you in that day or the next.

We see emergencies for patients across Clay Cross, Danesmoor, Clay Lane and the surrounding villages, on both NHS and private terms. Most urgent care, including pain relief and first-stage treatment, comes under NHS Band 2 (£76.60).

When we’re closed: call NHS 111. They’ll direct you to the nearest urgent dental service covering Clay Cross and North East Derbyshire and can advise you straight away.

Please don’t head to A&E for dental pain on its own — NHS 111 or an urgent dental service is the right route and will usually get you seen far quicker. If you’d like to join the practice for ongoing care, you can register as a new patient too.
